our Plan to Move Forward
It is said that if the Viking Compass was carried, one will never lose their way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known. To protect every Viking as they live, work, and learn in our community, ECSU has developed a comprehensive plan to chart the course for Vikings to return to ECSU.
Adjustments to normal business operations, a renewed focus on cleaning and disinfecting, and the implementation of social distancing have changed how we interact with each other. Our return to campus plan considers health and safety guidelines from state and federal officials and has integrated that focus into the following key areas:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the NC Department of Health and Human Services advise that social distancing, the use of masks in public areas, and a heightened emphasis on cleanliness are critical to limit community spread. As we start fall classes this semester and return to work, every member of the Viking community should integrate these actions into their daily routine.
Therefore, our campus operations will look different this year to achieve the goals mentioned above. Face masks are going to be required for all students, faculty, staff, and any visitors to the campus. Social distancing protocols will be implemented into several work and academic areas throughout campus. This means, a greater emphasis will be placed on the use of technology to access student and employee services, receive academic instruction and advising, and meet work expectations.
