ECSU campus is operating with limited in-person availablity but our ability to serve our students and families is still open. 

To support social distancing practices the following offices are providing additional virtual services so that students do not have to travel to campus to complete their business with the university.

Virtual Information Sessions are available for prospective parents and families. Please sign up through our Viking Admissions Portal. The Campus Store is open Monday through Friday, 8:00amto 5:00pm. Students will need to submit a electronic voucher request to use Financial Aid funds to purchase items from the ECSU Campus Store. Please call or email for assistance. 

  • For a contactless shopping experience, visit us at www.ECSUShop.com for all academic materials, supplies, spirit clothing, accessories, gifts and technology needs that can be shipped direct to your home. 
  • Financial Aid Charging is available at the ECSU Campus Store until August 25, 2020. Students must submit Electronic Voucher Request Form in order to use financial funds to purchase items from the ECSU Campus Store.  
  • Student Accounts will review the request to verify that funds are available to cover the additional cost. Once the request has been approved by Student Accounts, approvals will only be sent to students’ campus email account.

    • Customers are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines and remain 6 feet (2 meters) apart while visiting the campus store.
    • Plexiglass barriers are installed at customer check out stations. 
    • Cleaning and disinfecting practices will be exercised based on Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. 
    • Employees will exercise appropriate hand washing practices and wear face coverings/masks in adherence to institutional protocols. 

Electronic Voucher Request Form

  • Book Rental charges are added automatically for all Full Time Undergraduate students during the Fall and Spring semesters; Part Time students can request book rental by completing a Book Rental Request Form. 
  • The last day for students to add/drop book rental is August 25, 2020.  
  • Students will receive an email (ECSU email account) once their order is ready for pickup. A scheduling system will be implemented using E4U. Students will also receive an email to schedule an appointment time to pick up their books. Rental books can also be shipped to students via USPS. Please contact the ECSU Campus Store for additional information. 
  • All textbook rentals are due back to the Book Rental Office on November 25, 2020.

The University Post office is located in the Viking Services building (formerly known as Ridley University Center).  

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and some Saturdays (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). Hours maybe extended during registration. 

 Mailbox and Key 

  • Residential students must be registered and have their student accounts financially cleared to receive their mailbox keys. 
  • Residential students will need to request their mailbox key online through the Mailbox Rental & Key Request Form
  • Keys will be available 24-48 hours for pickup at the Post Office. Students will be notified via email and must present their ECSU Viking ID Card at the time of pickup.  
  • All on-campus resident boxes are located in the Viking Servicesbuilding (formerly known as Ridley University Center)
  • Your mailbox is activated and ready for use when you receive a key from the University Post Office. 
  • If your mailbox is too full, we will send a reminder email encouraging you to check it.  
  • Students moving off campus should return their key and fill out a change of address form. Their mailbox will be permanently closed when their key is returned to the University Post Office. 
  • If the key is misplaced or stolen, students will be charged $20.00 for the replacement key. 

 Receiving Packages 

  • An email will be sent to your ECSU email account notifying you of a package arrival. 
  • UPS, FedEx, DHL and other deliveries are received at various times during the day; there is no set time for you to check on a delivery. 
  • Expect an estimated 24 to 48 hour delay from the time of USPS delivery confirmation until the package is received by Post Office. 
  • Students must present their ECSU Viking ID Card at the time of pickup.

Dining service will be available in Bedell Hall starting August 5, 2020. Austin Grill and Viking Subs, which is located in the Ridley Student Complex will re-open on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.  

  • Please note that students will have access to their meal plans once they have been financially cleared by Student Accounts. 
  • Students will be able to submit all meal plan changes and cancellation online using the Meal Plan Change & Cancellation Form. Students (with the exception of first year Freshmen) that wish to make changes to their meal plan must do so by 5:00 p.m., on Friday, August 14, 2020 
  • After this time, students are only able to select higher meal plans and not able to drop to lower plans. Students changing from a less expensive plan to a more expensive plan option will be required to pay a prorated charge based on the date of the change.  
  • Any student wishing to purchase a commuter meal plan must complete an Electronic Voucher Request Form online. The last day to receive student vouchers for Fall semester is August 25, 2020. Students must complete the Title IV Authorization section at the bottom of the form prior to submitting the form. Student Accounts will review the request to verify that funds are available to cover the additional cost. Once the request has been approved by Student Accounts, approvals will only be sent to students with a valid campus email account.  
  • All commuter plan purchases are non-refundable. 
  • All Meal Plan participants must present their valid ECSU Identification Card (ID) at front entrance to the Cafeteria for admittance. Cash and Credit Cards are also accepted.

What To Expect 

  • All guests are encouraged to review the Online Menus before entering the dining locations. 
  • Planning ahead will speed up the service process so we are able to serve guests that may be waiting. 
  • There are floor decals and signs for guests to follow proper distancing and flow of service.  
  • Associates will have maps and guidelines to ensure that social distancing practices are being followed both in the back-of-the house and front-of-the-house.  
  • Kitchens, vehicles, serving lines and dining rooms will all be required to adhere to social distancing.  
  • Guests are asked to sanitize hands after scanning into the dining locations. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at the entrance of each dining location. 
  • University standards permit only one person per table or booth.  
  • Tables will be arranged for social distancing. 
  • Entrances and exits will be separated.  
  • There will be one-way traffic management to help guests navigate dining and seating areas while maintaining social distancing.  
  • Although dining rooms will be open, they will have limited occupancy (50%) to adhere to university physical distancing guidelines.  
  • Take out will be the primary option for guests utilizing the dining locations. 
  • Guests will receive bottle, can or fountain beverage upon arrival to the dining location.

The office of Viking ID Services is located in the Viking Services building (formerly known as Ridley University Center).

  • The Viking Card is the official identification card (ID) for Elizabeth City State University. The Viking Card is the only campus card you need for: building access; library services; meal plan authorization; photo identification and so much more. 
  • Students receive their first ID card at no cost, however, there is a $20 replacement fee if the card is lost, stolen, or damaged. If an ID card is damaged, there is a $10 replacement fee, providing the damage card is turned in at the same time. 
  • You can submit a request for your official University issued identification card (known as Viking Card) using our online Viking ID Card Request Form
  • All students and staff will need to complete the Viking ID Card Request Form to receive new or replacement ID cards. Upon receipt of the request form, appointments will be scheduled. All students will be able to schedule an appointment online through E4U.  
  • Students must be registered and have their student accounts financially cleared to receive an ECSU Viking ID Card. Please bring a driver's license or another valid form of photo ID to obtain an ECSU Viking ID Card.
