FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Submit your housing application and select your meal plan for the 2021-22 school year, along with the $150 application fee.  After that, there is nothing else you need to do!  We’ll automatically apply it to your account, which will lower your Fall 2021 bill sent to you in early July.

This $1,500 grant will be applied to the Fall 2021 semester ONLY. It covers a portion of housing and meal plan costs, and we encourage you to take advantage of it.

The $1,500 will be applied to your Fall 2021 semester only and cannot be carried over to the spring semester.

We will not be changing the housing rates for the spring semester. The one-time $1,500 payment will be applied to your Fall 2021 semester, which will make that bill lower.

This housing grant is not considered financial aid, so we do not expect it to affect a student’s current or future financial aid eligibility.

The grant is for students living in ECSU residence halls only.

The $1,500 grant will automatically be applied to the charges on your account. So, if you have paid more than what is ultimately owed, then you will get a refund.

You will be required to return the funding to the University so we can use it for another student.

We do not expect the grant to impact other money sources or financial awards.

In some cases, non-citizen permanent residents may be eligible, so you should check with the Office of Financial Aid to see if you qualify. International students are not eligible.

To the best of our knowledge, the grant is not taxable.

Visit VikingPLUS for more information about the resources available at ECSU.
