FAA Aviation & Drone High School Academy

The NASA-ECSU Aerospace/Aviation Career Academy (Residential) program at ECSU is an exciting hands-on, week-long aviation program for high school students. Conducted by the Aviation Science program, the camp has focuses on aviation, aeronautical science, flight theory, airplanes as a vehicle, aviation history, STEM concepts as it relates to aviation, socio-economic benefits of aviation and aviation careers.  This academy will enhance their enjoyment in discovering new things, solving problems, and learning how things work - even better! Creativity, persistence, and the desire to make the world a better place are also important qualities. Further, academy capitalize on the increasing popularity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as Drones to spark student interest and provide an experiential learning opportunity (ELO) in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The program is funded by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF).
