Student Outcomes (SO) for the Engineering Technology program
SO1: Student will be able to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
SO2: Student will be able to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
SO3: Student will be able to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
SO4: Student will be able to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.
SO5: Student will be able to function effectively as a member as well as a leader on technical teams.
Engineering Technology PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Elizabeth City State University offers an Engineering Technology program that prepares students to enter their careers as problem-solvers and function effectively in today’s global, rapidly changing, diverse work environment. Our ABET-accredited program utilizes a blend of technical knowledge, theoretical skills and the hands-on experience necessary to enter professional careers in design installation operation computer aided manufacturing robotics and automated systems.

The B.S. in Engineering Technology program will produce graduates who will:
PEO1: Have an engineering technology or related position that utilizes the application
of their engineering technology education in the workplace
PEO2: Have a record of active professional development trainings through workshops, advanced degrees, or certificates in any related field.
PEO3: Evidence of professional growth through promotions or changes in responsibilities that meet the evolving needs of the workplace
