ELIZABETH, N.C. - The Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) Office of Admissions and Recruitment will host the first of three recruiting events called, “Blueprint For Success,” at 1 p.m., . at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 7237 Tuckaseegee Rd. in Charlotte.

The events are designed to expose the greater North Carolina region to ECSU, its students, and the opportunities available at the institution.

“There is value in demystifying what a college education is all about,” said Karen Lucas, associate vice chancellor of enrollment management at ECSU. “It is important for students and their families to see for themselves that they can find their place at ECSU.”

Attendees can expect to engage with alumni, athletics, and residence life team members, as well as students who call Charlotte home. Additionally, financial aid experts will be available to offer personalized information on financial support, scholarships and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

“The areas and communities we’re targeting are our largest population centers,” Lucas said. “Through our travels we want as many potential students and families as possible aware of what ECSU offers.”

The two additional open house events are in February and March in Raleigh and Winston-Salem, respectively. Event registration is available at and will be available on-site.
