Admitted Student Checklist

Once admitted, complete your intent to enroll through the Viking Admissions Portal.

Deadline: May 1 (priority deadline)

Submit the following documents:

  • Official, final high school transcript, signed, sealed and sent from the institution directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

  • Official, final college transcript, signed, sealed and sent from the institution directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Early College Students and those with transferable college work, make sure your final college transcript is sent to the Admissions Office prior to your New Student Orientation session to ensure you are registered for the correct courses your first semester.

Deadlines:

If you are seeking in-state residency for tuition purposes, you have to complete the Residency Determination Service (RDS) process.

For you to receive the benefits of in-state tuition and/or State Student Aid, a residency determination from RDS is required. You should only have to complete the RDS one time instead of seeking separate residency determinations at multiple colleges and universities.

Complete your residency verification on the RDS website.

Deadline: March 1

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The ECSU Federal School Code is 002926.

Oct. 1 (FAFSA application portal opens)
March 1 (priority deadline)
  • Apply for scholarships. ECSU has scholarships as well as provides infomration on specific scholarships and scholarship resources.
  • Once ECSU receives your FAFSA, you will receive an award offer. You may be required to verify information on the FAFSA. The School Servicing Center (SCC) completes the verification process for ECSU, and will notify you if you need to verify your information.
  • Review your award offer.
  • If you received a Federal Direct Student Loan, you must go to the Self-Service Banner to accept, reduce or decline your federal student loans. You also must accept the terms and conditions of your award in the Self-Service Banner.

Deadline: 30 days from receipt of the initial award notification

Setting Up Your VikingOne Account

 As an ECSU student, you must setup your VikingOne password with your one time authorization code prior to access the following services: e-mail, university computers, wi-fi, Blackboard, E4U, LinkedIn Learning, and Self-Service Banner (SSB).

  1. Locate the email from ECSU Division of Information Technology (DIT) that includes your Banner ID & ECSU Email address.
  2. To get started, go to the Self-Service Password Portal to setup your VikingOne account password.
  3. Setup your password by first logging in with your one time authorization code.
  4. Do this by selecting the "By providing the answer to your security question" radio button from the menu and click Next.
  5. Enter Viking$$MMDD, where MM and DD represent the month and day of your date of birth, and hit SUBMIT.
  6. The system will ask that you set up your security questions and create a custom password.
  7. Once you have setup your password, verify that you can access ECSU services, such as your ECSU-issued email account.


You will need to visit the Self-Service Password Portal to change your password:

  •  If it has been 90 days or more since you last changed your password
  • If you believe your password is known to anyone other than you
  • If you forgot your password

 

New student orientation is mandatory for all new undergraduate students.

To register for your upcoming New Student Orientation session, click HERE. You must pay the orientation fee prior to attending orientation. The fee covers materials, services and meals.

Deadline: Registration for new student orientation is due no later than seven days prior to the date you wish to attend.

Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. To apply for on-campus housing, you must complete the housing application and pay the $150 application fee. Room assignments will be made after the application fee is received.

You can pay your fee:
  • Online when you submit your application
  •  In person to the Cashier (cash, check or money order) on the first floor of the M.D. Thorpe
            Administration Building
  • By mail (check or money order) to Cashier, Campus Box 950, Elizabeth City, NC 27909;
             include your Banner ID and specify that your payment is for your Housing Application Fee
Deadline: April 1 (priority deadline)
Housing & Residence Life will notify you when your housing assignment has been made.

You must complete the new Student Immuizations requirements by submitting the Student Health Form and a copy of your up-to-date immunization records. You can access instructions via Student Health Services.

Deadlines:
July 15 for Fall Semester
December 4 for Spring Semester 
May 1 for Summer Semester

You can pay your bill online in the Self-Service Banner via an electronic check or credit card or in person to the Cashier with cash, check or money order. You also can set up a payment plan.

Deadlines:
July 31 for Fall Semester
December 18 for Spring Semester

If you plan to bring your car to campus, you must complete the student parking permit registration and pay the annual student parking permit fee. You will then pick up your parking permit at the Office of University Policy, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

January 7 (registration portal opens for Spring Semester)
