By 2030, Elizabeth City State University will deepen partnerships with community, industry, military and alumni to expand workforce pathways, enrollment opportunities, entrepreneurship, and public service. These collaborations will strengthen our financial foundation, grow the endowment, and eliminate financial barriers to students’ graduation—ensuring lasting opportunity and economic growth across the region.
By 2030, ECSU will grow the university endowment by 25%, increasing annual alumni and donor contributions to support scholarships, infrastructure, and academic innovation.
Aligned Strategies
- Launch a five-year comprehensive campaign targeting alumni, corporations, and philanthropic partners
- Align advancement priorities with strategic plan initiatives, naming opportunities, and workforce-aligned programs
- Expand alumni engagement through personalized outreach, stewardship, and digital engagement tools.
- Increase alumni membership and expand engagement to strengthen philanthropic support for scholarships, campus infrastructure, and academic innovation.
By 2030, ECSU will increase brand awareness and favorability by 25%, as measured by perception surveys and digital engagement analytics.

- Enhance the university’s brand identity with updated visuals, messaging, and storytelling
- Deploy annual multimedia campaigns that reflect ECSU’s mission, HBCU legacy, and innovation impact
- Empower student, faculty, and alumni brand ambassadors to promote ECSU stories on digital platforms.
By 2030, ECSU will enhance and expand its regional impact by launching or scaling at least five workforce-aligned academic or training programs—supported by targeted capital investments*—in partnership with military, cultural, industry, and local government partners.
