  • The Book Bar: Faculty/ Staff Book Talks and Reading Circles

Book Talks are 1-hour programs dedicated to one featured book in which the facilitator prepares a brief presentation detailing key take aways from the book and leads a discussion of issues surrounding the subject matter presented in the book. This provides attendees with the opportunity to preview the book and gain insight into various issues in education.

Faculty Reading Circles are small groups of faculty who meet at times determined by the group to discuss a common book. Much like Book Talk, these synchronous (virtual, face-to-face) meetings are designed to provide colleagues with an opportunity to share ideas about teaching and learning in an informal setting with peers from across the University.

This program is required of all new faculty, full-time faculty and staff (Academic Affairs) members.
