Flight Fees
Flight lab fees are billed to the student's ECSU account based on the specific lab course they are registered for during a given semester. For students completing training through a Flight Training Affiliate (FTA), ECSU will transfer the funds to the FTA where the student is completing their training.
Flight lab fees increase a student's Cost of Attendance (COA), which can trigger eligibility for additional financial aid. Students are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
While the program is designed to cover the objectives within the standard allotted hours, the structure of additional training depends on the specific provider:

In-Person Training: Standardized hours are set for each course. If objectives are not met within this timeframe, the student must repeat the entire course to ensure all safety and proficiency requirements are satisfied under university oversight.

Flight Training Affiliates (FTA): Students may receive fewer flight hours for the same fee because these partners face varying overhead, such as higher fuel costs and higher aircraft maintenance costs. FTA students who exceed their allotted hours may be billed directly by the provider for the extra time. This allows for immediate remedial training without an automatic course restart, though repeating the course remains a possibility if objectives are still not met.
