Student Life at ECSU

New Student Orientation

Congratulations and welcome to Elizabeth City State University, home of the Mighty Vikings!

We are excited at the thought of having you join the ECSU family, and we look forward to serving you and your family members in the near future.  The first step in beginning your Viking Voyage is to attend one of our New Student and Family Viking Voyage Orientation (VVO) sessions.

Incoming Freshman

We strongly encourage all first-time freshman and new incoming students to attend the in-person overnight orientation experience. This session provides an opportunity to connect with fellow Vikings, explore campus resources, engage with faculty and staff, and begin building your ECSU community before the first day of classes. The over night experience is designed to help students feel prepared, confident, and excited for their Viking journey.

Transfer Students

Transfer students are encouraged to attend the in-person or virtual orientation session.

VikingOne

During VVO you will meet with academic advisors, register for classes, learn about campus resources, experience the ECSU Viking Pride Culture, make new friends, and so much more!  As you navigate the Viking Voyage and stay the course to becoming a Viking, don’t forget to:

  1. Activate your VikingOne (email) account, if you haven't already
